A way for the youth of Columbia County to get involved is to join one of the youth groups that are a part of Columbia County Connects. This is a chance to make a difference in your school and community.
Program goals for Columbia County Youth Groups are:
GET INVOLVED - HAVE FUN - MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Youth group members, with the support of the school's youth liaison, can decide on what type of community service projects they want to work on. Members meet at lease once every two weeks with refreshments at each of these meetings. As a group, youth plan fundraising events, Public Service Announcements, and alternative events for their school. The only requirements are that members not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and that they treat each other with respect. Youth groups from each of the schools get together three times a year with the other groups from across Columbia County.
To join a youth group, contact the liaison at your school. If there is not a liaison listed for your school, contact Tim Belleau at 608/742-8814, #225. You could also fill out a youth application form (listed on the forms portion of this web site) and return it to the liaison at your school.
